Under the pension income rules of incapacity benefit if you recieve the top rate care component in DLA your occupational pension would not be reduced under the £85 a week pension income rule. This rule has now been abolished in ESA.
So hence I recieve net £62 a week because I recently migrated to cSG ESA and later (at last) my request for recieving highest rate care component was accepted.
I have written to the Government to ask if the new pension income rule in ESA was to be changed back to what it was in incapacity benifit and alas no it is not.....who knows things might change?
This I feel has a direct consequence one I have less money for adaptations to my home in which I have to pay for. I could have bought my own care without SS assesment. The SS assesment was expensive for what it was and eventually I will have to have it but that I think means the council will get less from me because of the deduction in ESA if I got full amount that would be calculated in.......so in another way the council loses out too.
I wonder who thought all this up and the disaster it is going to cause.
I saw the speech Mr Cameron made about his son and he to did not like all the paper work involved in direct payments (if I remember rightly).
The whole system is so so complicated the deeper you go and less able you become.
Thanks for your blog as above comments have made it is much appreciated. Your blog is insightful and informative and I would like to express how horrified I am at the fact the figures of misclaimed Disability Allowance remaining at 0.5% - the misrepresentation of these figures by politicians and the media is truly shocking!

We feel as though you have a powerful voice and would love to invite you to write a piece of your own for our first issue - under whatever format you feel fit. If not, we could feature you for an interview, but given the strength of your writing we would love to collaborate.

If this sounds like an opportunity you would be interested in, please do not hesitate to email me at contact@deadstockmagazine.com. Looking forward to hearing back from you!DEADSTOCK magazinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34940564.post-17914626072135259822011-04-19T11:18:08.910+01:002011-04-19T11:18:08.910+01:00Explained beautifully, succinctly and honestly wit...Explained beautifully, succinctly and honestly with the knowledge gained from personal experience.

Thank you :)

This should be compulsory reading for all MPs, bureaucrats and anybody who reads the tripe in certain papers about benefit scroungers.

Keep it up for everyone's sake :)Jacintahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15134627680423780843noreply@blogger.com
