First They Came...
First They Came for the JewsFirst they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Sadly, they never came for the Tories.
One of my favourites, I do try & speak out against every kind of injustice, even though it has never effected me directly, I have donated towards aid for those in Pakistan (I am not a pakistani or a flood victim!) I have donated to health charities & raised awareness for illnesses I don't have. We are all part of the Earth & must treat all of her with respect.
lol @Nath!
Wanna come and live in America?
This is something that comes very strongly to my mind. I went into social work because I felt strongly about promoting social justice. I thought that's what I would be doing rather than ramming through successive governmental agendas although I do think we still have scope to speak out against some of the nature of the systems that seem to throw injustice and bureaucracy in the face of those who need support.
He got it in the wrong order. They came for the trade unionists before the jews and for the disabled before everyone with the T4 "euthanasia" program.
Having just been kicked back for my dla (I have eds3 and fibro etc etc) I cant help but remember how the nazis got rid of the disabled and mentally ill before the death camps were even opened, they had two docs seperately, and annonymously, decide upon just a viewing of a file (never the patient) weather they should be "neutralised" and noone ever knew whos choices swung the vote so they had their version of clean conciences.. my doc wont even write a letter for my appeal as he refuses on principal to cooperate with the system going beserk but where does that leave me?! He said "You have to be totally demented and only able to blink to get dla now Emma. you wont get it."
Thanks for doing your blog, I know first hand how difficult typing is with eds, its really informative and funny and right on! :D
